The Valley Scoop is a free email newsletter about the Lehigh Valley. Here's everything we do with your information.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you subscribe. That's the main thing.
- Newsletter engagement — our email platform, beehiiv, records standard delivery stats (opens, link clicks, unsubscribes) so we know what's working.
- Anything you send us — replies, tips, survey answers. Tips may appear in the newsletter; we'll credit you or keep you anonymous, your call.
What we do with it
Send you the newsletter and improve it. That's it. We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address or any personal information — to sponsors or anyone else. Sponsors get audience-level stats (subscriber counts, open rates), never your address.
Who processes it
- beehiiv stores the subscriber list and sends the emails (see beehiiv's privacy policy).
- Cloudflare hosts this website and provides standard, aggregate traffic analytics.
- If we run ads to grow the newsletter (e.g., on Facebook/Instagram), those platforms may use cookies or pixels on our signup pages per their own policies.
Your choices
- Every email has an unsubscribe link. It works instantly and we don't guilt-trip.
- Want your data deleted entirely? Email colin@thevalleyscoop.com and it's done.
Questions
This newsletter is run by a real person in the Lehigh Valley. Email colin@thevalleyscoop.com with any privacy question and you'll get an answer from Colin, not a form letter.
